For years, I’ve been on a quest for the perfect remote work hotel. It might sound simple, but finding a place that seamlessly blends productivity and comfort is no easy feat. Countless hotels have come and gone, but this Hilton Hotels & Resorts in Anaheim has set a new standard.
When you’ve done this as much as I have, there are some criteria’s which need to be met. We were not let down at all.
- Blazing-fast WiFi: Never once did I experience a dropped connection or sluggish speeds, even during peak hours.
- A Desk Made for Marathons: The enormous desk space was a dream come true, accommodating my laptop, notebooks, and even a second monitor.
- Power Galore: Outlets were plentiful and conveniently placed, with USB-C ports for all my modern devices.
- Ergonomic Bliss: The chair was a revelation – comfortable, supportive, and perfect for long work sessions.
- Entertainment at Your Fingertips: The massive TV let me login to my UK Netflix account and continue to binge Psych.
- Fitness and Wellness: The well-equipped gym and pool (if a little small) provided a solid routine.
- Climate Control Mastered: The HVAC unit effortlessly handled both the scorching California sun and my personal preference for a cool workspace.
- Restful Retreat: The comfortable bed ensured a good night’s sleep, and carried on the tradition of ports for devices.
Beyond the room itself, the hotel’s location offered a surprising blend of convenience and inspiration. While primarily catering to Disney and convention-goers, I found it to be an ideal base for remote work. The 15-minute walk to the Convention Center was a welcome opportunity to stretch my legs and soak up the California sunshine. And with a massive Target across the road, stocking up on snacks and supplies was a breeze.
My days fell into a satisfying rhythm: a morning swim and workout, followed by a productive stint at the Convention Center, and then an evening dip in the pool before settling in for some focused work.
Is it perfect? Not quite. As with any hotel catering to a diverse crowd, there can be some noise. And as a non-driver, the Uber rides into Los Angeles for concerts and events did add up. However, the nearby House of Blues brings in some pretty big bands, which is always a bonus.
Over the years, I’ve stayed in countless hotels, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. But this Hilton in Anaheim struck the perfect balance of having enough room for the snacks I kept buying, being a base for my stuff and a solid workspace. It wasn’t flashy or luxurious, but it excelled at the essentials, allowing me to focus on what mattered most: getting work done while enjoying a comfortable and fulfilling trip to California.
If you’re a remote worker seeking a productive and enjoyable stay, I wholeheartedly recommend giving this Hilton a try.
